The intelligent card.
The Guest Card 2.0 project aims to digitalise and standardise the fragmented card system of South Tyrol.
Over the past few years, around thirty different types of guest cards have been introduced in South Tyrol, all independent of each other. Through “Guest Card 2.0,” IDM aims to standardise and absorb the existing cards through an innovative system based on avant-garde technology. The digital card is also designed to provide a tool to ease the management of visitor flow and promote soft mobility. The new system will launch in 2023.
A win-win strategy
From the moment of inspiration, via the experiences they encounter on the way and through to the return journey, guests must be able to organise their holidays in South Tyrol with complete ease, and entirely through digital technology. The 2.0 Card is a pass to the “South Tyrol experience” and provides guests the opportunity to exploit the leisure offer of South Tyrol to the full.
The new guest card will enable South Tyrol to reinforce its position as a sustainable, quality destination and enhance the visibility of regional peculiarities. The new system will also make it possible to direct visitors throughout the entire customer journey, thus leading to a reduction and a modal shift in traffic flow. The Guest Card 2.0 also personalises the guest experience by responding to the needs of the individual guest, and renders generated data accessible and usable.
Technical innovation
During the transitory phase guests will receive a physical card which will, in the future, be replaced by an electronic card. The card is activated automatically on the day of arrival and is valid for the duration of the guest’s stay. By linking to the future Südtirol Marketplace/Marketplace Alto Adige, the user can purchase an array of services and load them on the new card.
