One of the fundamental prerequisites to access funding is the “South Tyrol Effect,” which stipulates that production companies - in accordance with IDM requisites - must reinvest 150% of the requested funding in South Tyrol. To date, the average “South Tyrol Effect” reinvestment has been in excess of 200%.

Funding for film productions promotes the development of the local film industry, provides interesting career opportunities to the creators of South Tyrol, and slows down the “brain drain” of skilled people working in this sector. This approach also works to the benefit of a number of other sectors, including the hotel and catering, construction, artisanship and transportation industries.
