The people, the culture and the values of South Tyrol are to be taken into account as well as the development of society.
Preserving South Tyrol for future generations.
For the sustainable development of South Tyrol, we are a multiplier and a source of inspiration.
“Sustainability” has been the word on everybody’s lips for some years now. But what does it actually mean? Over the past few years, sustainability is considered to be the placing of environmental issues on an equal footing with social and economic issues. This three-pillar model, which places equal value on ecology, economy and social matters and promotes sustainable development, is more important than ever for South Tyrol and its future. It is only by adhering to this approach that our province can become the most desirable sustainable region of Europe, and it is only by following this approach that we can preserve it, intact, for future generations.
It is in times of crisis, when we are forced to reconsider our concepts and values, that sustainability can become a factor capable of making all the difference. We have woven this concept into the very fabric of our vision, mission and activity programme at IDM, as sustainability is the only value that can truly make our vision and mission come to life.
Resting on three pillars
Sustainability means a balanced social, economic and ecological development.
People
Planet
We must protect the unique landscape of South Tyrol, preserve its delicate balance and use natural resources in an intelligent and sustainable way.
Prosperity
Healthy economic growth is also fundamental to sustaining prosperity and passing it on to future generations; only through sustainability can prosperity achieve lasting stability.
A virtuous circle
IDM is a multiplier and a source of impetus for sustainable development, both in everyday life and in projects, networks and concepts built around sustainable development - not least because sustainability is a decisive factor in the competitiveness of our economy. Sustainable products are intrinsically linked to better quality and are therefore more attractive to customers, which has a positive impact on a wider scale. Only a successful, competitive economy can maintain employment levels and create new jobs - and today this particular objective is more important than ever.
