IDM provide the Südtiroler Speck Konsortium/Consorzio Speck Alto Adige – the Speck Alto Adige Consortium - with support in the marketing of Südtiroler Speck/Speck Alto Adige PGI.
The words “South Tyrol” conjure up an instant image of mountains, bread dumplings and, above all, speck, particularly PGI “Protected Geographical Indication” speck. This EU label can be used only if the speck has been produced in South Tyrol, from pork legs, and following traditional production methods. With its unmistakeable taste, South Tyrolean Speck is a core element of the “South Tyrol, land of culinary excellence” philosophy, which will be further consolidated by highlighting the positive image, natural production and respect for traditional production methods.
Cured to perfection
Joint marketing campaigns for Südtiroler Speck/Speck Alto Adige are conducted mainly in South Tyrol, Italy and Germany. IDM, working in close cooperation with the Speck Alto Adige Consortium, aims to consolidate the positive image within core markets and create new markets. These campaigns comprise tasting sessions, adverts in sector-specific publications, television sponsorship, radio campaigns, PR and online campaigns and trade-fair attendance. Our budget is comprised of regional funding, EU grants and financial contributions from the Speck Consortium itself.
Our marketing activities are targeted towards journalists, bloggers and opinion leaders, the premium gastronomy sector, end consumers and retail purchasers in the food sector.
